How to change your pincode on an IDVisor Smart device


Changing the PIN Code on an IDVisor Smart device


Each scanner’s PIN code is set as “5678” from the factory. For security reasons, we strongly recommend changing scanner PIN codes.  


NOTE: If using the IDVisor Sync Cloud Subscription you must change the Pin Code using the IDVisor Sync Console.


To change a PIN code, follow these steps: 

Step 1) From the IDVisor IDScanner Home screen and press the “Setup” button



Step 2) Click Configuration on the Menu screen


Step 3) Enter PIN Code – you will be prompted to enter your PIN for the scanner. (The factory PIN is 5678). 



Step 4) On the next screen, click “Advanced” on the bottom left of the screen


 




Step 5) Click the button towards the top of the screen labeled “Change Pincode”



Step 6) You will be prompted to enter the current PIN code again and then enter a new pin code twice.


For security purposes, we recommend using pincodes with lengths >4 digits (longer the better).



Step 7) Click save and then restart the device. Once restarted, the new pin will take effect.
