IDentiFake - Dirty Scanner Alert

Dirty Scanner Alert on IDentiFake

If you’re receiving a “Dirty Scanner Alert” error message, it means the scanned image quality is low. This is normally caused by dirt build up from IDs. To accurately authenticate IDs the scanner must produce a clear, high quality image after every scan. We recommend cleaning the scanner ASAP to avoid any valid IDs failing at a high rate, high false positive results, and scanner building up more dirt causing darker scan images.

NOTE: If the scan image is producing solid black shadows across ID, the device will have to be deep cleaned. Please contact Tokenworks Support here to set up a RMA.

Steps to take:

Clean the Scanner

Follow the appropriate cleaning guide based on your scanner model:

M500 Model: M500 Cleaning Guide
M150 Model: M150 Cleaning Guide

Test the Scanner After Cleaning

- After completing the cleaning process, scan a few IDs to verify image quality improvement.
- The alert should no longer appear and the scan quality image should greatly improve.

Preventative Maintenance:

- Regularly clean the scanner. Users that experience high scan volumes should clean once a week.
- Keep the scanning area free from dust and debris.

Contact Support if Necessary

If the issue persists despite cleaning, contact Tokenworks Support here to set up a RMA.
