How to enable Barcode Detective on IDentiFake

How to enable Barcode Detective on IDentiFake



Our Barcode Detective feature will be enabled automatically on the latest update.


To double check if the Barcode Detective feature is enabled:



  1. Go to the Settings tab then Configuration. Enter the defaut pincode when prompted (default pin: 5678).




  1. Tap on Advanced Settings.


  1. Ensure Enable Barcode Detective is enabled, then tap Save.

Failed Barcode Detective Result:


A Failed Barcode Detective Result will show in two places to alert the user.


On the Main Screen:




In the ‘Details’ on the IDentiFake Result pop up window:


It is the first failed check that will show in the ‘Details’ of the Forensic Analysis results. The name of the check will be IDSentry Feedback. The Analysis will indicate “Failed - Known fake barcode format”.






Passed Barcode Detective Result:


A passed Barcode Detective check will only show in one place. The Analysis will indicate “Passed - Known barcode format”.


In the ‘Details’ on the IDentiFake Result pop up window:

It will be the last passed check that will show in the ‘Details’ of the Forensic Analysis results.





Unknown Barcode Detective Result:


If Barcode Detective returns an unknown result, it will be classified as “Unknown - Unclassified Barcode Format”. This classification does not impact the overall Pass/Fail determination of the ID's validity. The result will be determined based on the other available verification checks that IDentiFake performs.
