Using a SIM card with IDVisor Smart V2/ Smart Plus


Our IDVisor Smart handheld devices have the capability of using GSM SIM cards. We recommend starting with T-Mobile but other popular carriers such as Mint Mobile and Boost mobile are compatible carriers for our device. Although carriers such as AT&T and Cricket Wireless are GSM carriers, they are not compatible with our devices. The IDVisor Smart handheld will not work with CDMA carriers i.e Verizon. We highly recommend either using the IMEI checker provided by the GSM carrier of your choice and/or reaching out to the carrier themselves to see if they are compatible with the IDVisor Smart device. Our IDVisor Smart devices run up to Android 13 and are compatible with 4G LTE (not 5G).



How to find the IMEI number

  1. Remove battery plate and battery. 

  2. IMEI will be on the sticker below the SN.
In the Android settings

In the Android settings:



  1. Go to Settings.




  1. Tap on About phone. 




  1. Scroll to IMEI.

1. Remove the battery cover plate and battery.


2. Insert SIM into the top left slot on back of the device.

1. Remove battery cover plate and battery.


2. Insert SIM into slot in bottom left corner.

Using an IMEI Checker (T-Mobile used in example): 


Check the compatibility of your IDVisor Smart device by searching the IMEI number on T-Mobile’s IMEI Checker - https://www.t-mobile.com/resources/bring-your-own-phone

After checking the IMEI number you will receive details from the carrier's website on the device compatibility.
